The special seven day NSS camp of universal college was started on 23rd.Feb.2016 with the motivational speech of the Director NSS and Head Of Institution Dr. L.K Attri, after which the Campus Director Prof Baljeet Kapoor, HOI Dr. L.K Attri and other dignitaries of the institutions flagged off the inaugural rally which then marched to the village "Ballopur". About 50 NSS volunteers from different streams took part in the special camp along with the NSS coordinators and the faculty members. The main motive of the camp was, the welfare of the village and spreading awareness regarding different social issues among the people. For this purpose, the village “Ballopur” was adopted by the NSS unit of the college, in which the seven day NSS volunteer’s camped at the village’s dharamshala. During the seven days ample number of activities were organized by the unit including awareness rallies, sanitation program with cleanliness drive, special guest lectures on different topics by very renowned dignitaries in their respective fields including Prof.(Dr.) S.K Kansal,P.U, Chandigarh and Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, Dr.L.K Attri,Dean UGI.Additionally medical camp, tree plantation, a day visit to Kushth ashram at Mubarakpur, Derabasi etc. The campus activities being organised were covered by a number of newspaper such as Punjabi Tribune, Divya Himachal, Divya Chandigarh etc. All the activities were scheduled and programmed over the seven days of the camp.
