Divya Shiksha Gurukul College of Education, Ballopur celebrated World Vegetarian Day on 1st Oct, 2015 in the college campus. Ms. Simerjit Kaur welcomed the participants. She told the students that North American Vegetarian Society established this day in 1977 for promoting the joy, compassion and life enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism. She also
highlighted the benefits of vegetarian lifestyle. A Salad making competition was organised on this day. Students from B.Tech, MBA, Nursing, UPC and Arts college of UIET participated in it along with B.Ed, M.Ed, ETT1 and ETT second.  Students made Indian, English and Italian salads in the competition. Team L and G from B.Ed department and Civil department from UIET bagged first prize,  team B from ETT 11 from Universal College of Education got second prize and Team H from Universal College of Education got third prize.  Winners were awarded by Judges Ms. Kshipra Gupta, HOD from Civil Department, Ms. Kanwaljeet Kaur, Principal from nursing department and Dr. Kompal Wadhwan, Vice Principal of the College. At the end, Dr. Gaurav Sachar gave a vote of thanks to all present.
